BE EXTRA HUMAN

Help

Quick answers to the most common questions. If yours isn't here, reply to your invite email and your team owner will help.

What is this?

Be Extra Human is the team-side companion to Ads to AI. Your team owner has set up an Agency Brain — a shared folder of skills, context, and workflows that your AI assistant (Claude Cowork) uses to help you do your work. Brain Sync is a small app that keeps your local copy of that folder up to date with your teammates.

How do I sync changes I make in Cowork?

You don't run any sync command. Brain Sync watches your team brain folder, commits and pushes your changes 30 seconds after you stop typing, and pulls your teammates' changes about every minute. Look for the brain icon in your menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows) — that's Brain Sync running.

Cowork won't open my folder

Make sure you're using Cowork desktop, not the web version. Open Cowork desktop, choose "Add a folder" or "Open project", and navigate to the folder Brain Sync installed for you (it's usually in ~/Documents/ on Mac or Documents\ on Windows, with a name ending in -brain).

I lost my invite link

Ask your team owner to send you a fresh one. They can generate a new invite link from their agency-create CLI without redoing any of the setup.

The install wizard says "your owner hasn't finished installing the GitHub App"

The owner needs to install the Agency Brain Sync GitHub App on their team brain repo. They'll have done this during their initial setup. If you see this error, your owner's setup didn't fully complete. Ask them to finish it before you try again.

Can I work on the team brain without Brain Sync running?

Yes — but your edits won't reach your teammates until Brain Sync starts up and pushes them. Brain Sync auto-starts at login, so this rarely matters in practice.

Is Brain Sync watching everything I do?

No. Brain Sync only watches the team brain folder you picked during setup. It does not see other folders, your browser, your messages, your apps, or your keystrokes. It runs git add, git commit, and git push on the contents of one folder. Nothing else.

What about my private notes?

Anything you put in personal/<yourname>/ inside the team brain folder stays on your machine and is never synced to teammates. That folder is gitignored at the repo level — no commits go up from it.

How do I contact my team owner?

The invite link came from their email. Reply to that email — they'll get it.

How do I contact Mike directly?

Mike runs paid help sessions at cal.com/ideas/30min. Otherwise, ask your team owner first — they'll usually be able to help quickly without needing Mike.
